Result of the review in preparation of the 2019 edition of the EU SDG monitoring report
The EU SDG indicator set, used to monitor progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an EU context, is open to annual reviews to incorporate indicators from new data sources and to take into account new EU policy priorities, including EU longer-term visions beyond 2020.
This paper describes the result of the review launched on 1 October 2018, in preparation of the 2019 edition of the EU SDG monitoring report (the “2019 review”). Annex 1 summarises the principles and selection criteria for EU SDG indicators. Annex 2 shows the characteristics of the 2019 EU SDG indicator set. Annex 3 gives an annotated overview of the modifications made to the 2018 EU SDG indicator set in order to arrive at the 2019 indicator set.
